This Year’s West Coast Germanists’ Workshop met at UCSD San Diego on November 4 & 5 Convened by history faculty Frank Biess and Ulrike Strasser. Faculty and graduate students based in the Western United States and working in the fields of German history and culture studies came together to discuss research on “Global Germany”. Sebastian Conrad from the Freie Universität Berlin gave the keynote on “European History After the Global Turn."
